My husband is a tournament fisherman which requires frequent extended stays in a hotel room and usually means unhealthy fast food and expensive restaurants meals... but it doesn't have to. We came up with the idea of using a small slow cooker in the hotel room; I prepare the meals in individual freezer bags that he just has to empty in the crockpot before he leaves for the day early in the morning and he returns to a healthy homemade meal that rivals the taste of any restaurant food.
Here's what I packed...

Pork Roast for BBQ Pork Sandwiches
Teriyaki Chicken Drumsticks
Not Your Average Pot Roast (simplified)
In a large freezer bag place a small Beef Roast (still in package). In a small zipper bag add half a package Au Jus Gravy Mix, half a package Ranch Dressing Mix, and half a package of Beefy Onion Soup Mix. Place zipper bag inside large freezer bag with meat. In another small zipper bag place 5 Pepperoncinis, seal and place in larger freezer bag. And finally, put a half stick of butter in the large freezer bag and seal the bag.
Pork Roast for BBQ PorkSandwiches
Place your small pork roast in a large freezer bag with the following ingredients: 1/2 a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup salsa, 1 Tblsp grill seasoning, 1/2 can of stewed tomatoes, and 1/4 cup of water.
Teriyaki Chicken Drumsticks:
In a large freezer bag add 6-8 chicken drumsticks (depending on how big they are and how many would fit in your crockpot). Add 1/2 bottle of your favorite teriyaki sauce ( I like Soy Vay), a couple squeezes of BBQ sauce, 1 Tblsp of grill seasoning, and 1/4 cup of water.
To cook:
For each of the above recipes all you need to do is empty the contents of the freezer bag in to the crockpot and cook on low at least 6 hours.
Extras:
You can add fresh vegetables to any of these and either serve raw or add to the slow cooker.
For the BBQ Pork sandwiches all you need to do is shred the pork with a fork in the slow cooker and serve on a roll.
Enjoy expirementing with a whole new way to use your crockpot!
