Make Ahead Meal: BBQ Chicken Teriyaki

Stocking my freezer with easy meals to have made ahead of time but not necessarily cooked and microwaveable, just put together and easy to get on the table.

At the grocery store I bought the bag of flash frozen freezer chicken thighs on sale for like $10, a bottle of teriyaki sauce, and I already had a bottle of BBQ sauce in the fridge at home.

This will make two make ahead meals for a family of 4-6 and even have some left overs for lunch or adding some chicken to a salad the next day.

To put it together I grabbed and labeled two gallon freezer bags, one for each meal. I divided the chicken thighs between the bags, divided the bottle of teriyaki sauce between the bags and poured that in, added a couple of tablespoons of BBQ sauce to each and then filled the bottle the teriyaki sauce came in about a third of the way full, put the top on and shook it. Then divide between the bags. Seal the bags and gently mix the ingredients. Put them away in the freezer.

When you want to use these you can throw them in the crockpot frozen or defrost them in the fridge and grill them. As the chicken defrosts it marinates.

Smartness!
