I found this idea on Pinterest, http://www.redtedart.com/2013/09/11/bath-bombs-recipe-gifts-kids-can-make/ ..and I changed it up a bit for what I had on hand.
These smelled so wonderful! My daughter and I made them and it was pretty simple, just a long wait from the time you make them and the time they are dry (1-2 days). But definitely an easy project to get the kiddos involved in.
What you need:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup cream of tartar
2 Tbls coconut oil (liquid)
The zest of an orange
Orange essential oil
Water in a spray water bottle
Silicon ice cube tray- any shape
In a large bowl combine baking soda, cream of tartar, oil, essential oil and orange zest. Use a water bottle to add moisture to the mix with a few sprays at a time. The mixture should start to feel like sand and stick together. Once it does, press it in to the silicon ice cube trays, making sure you really press it down between layers.
Leave these to dry completely for a day or two and then carefully remove them. We wrapped them simply in celaphane bags and then paired them with a jar of sugar scrub that we also made (post to come).
An easy homemade gift.
