Crockpot Applesauce

Still on the quest of what to do with too many apples!!

This is so easy, the most labor intensive part is peeling the apples. When it was all done I put it in my own snack size cups for easy portions and lunches for the kids or to stick in the freezer for a later time (the cups defrost quicker than a larger Tupperware).

What you need:
10 cups or so of sliced apples
5 tblsp flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
3-4 tblsp water
1 tblsp orange juice
Orange zest from 1/2 an orange

Slice apples (I use the slicer attachment on my food processor). Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on low for 3 hours.

You can purée the mixture when it's done on leave it chunky. I like to purée half of it and still have some texture to it too.

All set!!
